Doris Day Fever
Pillow Talk (1959) with Doris Day and Rock Hudson is one of my favorite movies of all time. Not only is the story adorable, but the furniture is to die for! Doris Day's character, Jan, is an interior decorator in New York and her taste is amazing.
Just look at that view! And that CHAIR.
This was Brad, Rock Hudson, and his best friend, Tony Randall, in his bachelor pad. Why get married in the 50's if your house looks so fabulous?
I have a soft spot for cherub lamps.

Favorite Finds
One of my favorite finds for the month of June was this Royal Haeger lamp for $24.00 at a local flea market. I haven't found the appropriate shade for it yet, but I can't wait to show it off in my new home in Savannah!

Planters: Beyond the Garden
Vintage planters are adorable and I often pick one up if I find it interesting. You can find some seriously crazy looking ones: giant poodles, boots, heads, space ships... you name it, they made it!
As someone who doesn't have much time for gardening, I've always wanted different ideas for what to do with planters beyond their intended use.
Best Uses for Planters
(besides planting!)
Bathroom organization - toothbrush holder, soap
dish, containers for cotton balls, q-tips, cosmetic wands, or pour a bag of bath salts in and dish some out when you feel like relaxing!
Boudoir - place on your vanity to hold rings, earrings, hair ties, bobby pins and other small accessories.
Kitchen - larger planters can be used to hold things like spoons and ladles, where as smaller planters can hold sponges by the sink.
Craft organization - in a sewing room, you can keep spools of thread, embroidery thread, or yarn in one. They would also be great containers for buttons!
